Rooted in the Villages We Serve

IRSSA Foundation is a non-profit organization and NGO in Bihar working because rural North India deserves more than temporary charity โ€” it deserves sustained, community-led rural development.

Our Foundation

Mission, Vision & Core Values

Our Mission

To improve the quality of life of rural communities in North India through accessible education, safe water, relief services, women's empowerment and humanitarian support โ€” delivered with dignity and transparency.

Our Vision

A future where no child in rural Bihar is denied an education, no family walks miles for clean water, and every village has the tools to build its own sustainable path forward.

Our Core Values

Transparency in every rupee spent. Respect for local knowledge. Consistency over one-off gestures. And a belief that dignity, not dependency, is what real aid looks like.

Why IRSSA Exists

Because a village without a school is a village without a future

Araria district sits in one of the most flood-prone, economically neglected corners of Bihar. Government schools are often hours away by foot; safe drinking water is scarce for months at a time; and families frequently have to choose between a child's education and the family's next meal.

IRSSA Foundation was founded in 2017 by a small group of volunteers who believed that meaningful change doesn't arrive by helicopter โ€” it's built brick by brick, well by well, classroom by classroom, in partnership with the people who live there. Every one of our current 7 Learning Centers, 1,075+ drinking water projects and relief programmes began with a request from a village, not a plan drawn up in an office.
